This policy explains how TommyDreams.Games collects, uses and protects personal information across everything we make: this website, our games and apps on any platform, and related services such as player support and community features. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean TommyDreams.Games, and "Services" means all of the above.
Who we are
TommyDreams.Games is an independent game studio based in Dallas, Texas, United States. Our website address is https://tommydreams.games.
Many of our games are sold and played through platforms such as Steam, Meta Quest, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those platforms run their own accounts, stores and payment systems and handle that data under their own privacy policies. This policy covers the information that we receive and control.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Messages you send us by email or through in-game feedback, including your name, email address and what you write.
- Support requests and bug reports, along with any screenshots, logs or save files you choose to attach.
- Account details, such as a username and email address, if a game offers its own account.
- Responses to surveys, playtests, beta sign-ups or contests you choose to enter.
Information collected when you play
- Device and technical data: device model, operating system, hardware specifications, language, region and IP address.
- Gameplay data: progress, save data, settings, play sessions and in-game events, used to run the game and improve it.
- Crash reports and diagnostics: technical details about errors and performance problems.
- Platform identifiers: your platform user ID and display name, when a game needs them for features such as cloud saves, achievements, leaderboards or multiplayer.
Online and multiplayer features
If a game has online play, other players may see your display name, avatar, scores and anything you share. Text or voice chat is processed to deliver it to other players, and may be reviewed to enforce our rules and keep players safe.
Purchases
Payments are handled by the platform or payment provider you buy through. We never receive your full card details. We may receive a record of what was purchased and when, so we can deliver content and help with problems.
This website
Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and browser details. This website does not set cookies of its own.
How we use information
- To provide our games and website, including saving progress and running online features.
- To fix bugs, improve performance and make our games better.
- To answer your messages and provide player support.
- To keep our Services secure, prevent cheating and fraud, and enforce our rules.
- To send you news or updates, only if you have asked to receive them.
- To meet our legal obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: performing our agreement with you (providing the game you bought), our legitimate interests (improving and securing our Services), your consent (where we ask for it, such as optional analytics or marketing), and legal obligations.
Analytics and advertising
Our website does not use analytics or advertising trackers. Some games may use analytics to understand how players play, such as which levels are hard to beat. We use aggregated or de-identified data for this wherever we can. We do not currently show targeted advertising. If a game ever includes ads or optional analytics, we will tell you in that game and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Service providers and third parties
We work with trusted providers that process data on our behalf, such as web hosting, cloud saves, crash reporting, analytics, multiplayer and voice chat services, and email. They may use your information only to provide services to us. When a game uses a third-party service that collects personal data, we will identify it in that game's settings, its store page or a game-specific notice.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:
- With the service providers described above.
- With platform holders, as needed to run features on their platforms.
- With publishing or development partners on a specific game, only as needed to make and support that game.
- When the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our players, our studio or others.
- As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to protect your information.
- With your permission.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above. Account and save data are kept while you use the game or account. Crash reports and diagnostics are kept for a limited period. Support emails and other messages are kept as long as the conversation needs them. Website server logs are kept only as long as our hosting provider needs them for security and troubleshooting. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct information that is wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Object to or limit certain uses, or withdraw consent you gave earlier.
- Opt out of the sale of personal information or targeted advertising (we do neither).
These include rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act and similar laws. To make a request, reach us through our . We may need to verify your identity first, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. Many games also let you turn off optional data collection in their settings, and your platform's own settings give you further control.
Children's privacy
Players of all ages may enjoy our games. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or a higher age where local law requires it, without verifiable parental consent. If a game is directed at children, we will limit the information it collects and follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, the UK or other regions with transfer rules, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How we protect information
Our website is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to personal information to the people and providers who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information. If a data breach affected your information, we would notify you and the relevant authorities within the time the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as our studio grows and as we release new games and features. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a significant change, we will let you know on this website or in our games.
